Land is the primary economic asset and basis for food, prosperity, and identity. In 2018, the Land Rights Act was passed, recognizing the land rights of Liberians holding land under customary tenure for the first time since the country was founded. Hence, access to hand and ownership has become a source of conflict. Hence, the objective of the Land Dispute Mediation workshop was to enhance capacities of LDS CEFs managers’ and selected project community Dispute Mediation Committees’ members in land dispute mediation techniques in early detection of emerging community land conflict and have basic skills in mediation between parties to community land conflict to amicably resolve their difference.
