Agriculture activities in vegetable and rice production are key thematic areas of the Lutheran Development Service (LDS) CLAP Project in Salayea, Lofa County and Sanoyea, Bong County. Recently, members of the CLAP project and delegates from our partner organization, Bread for the World visited Telemai community to monitor project implementation progress on Agriculture. During their visit, much attention was on the Vegetable Nursery bed and a 2.1 hectare of low land farm preparation that was on-going for rice and vegetable production. They view the different activities sites and was excited to see the level of work from the project participants and the LDS team over the first 6 months of the project. Additionally, the delegates spoke with members of the different farming groups and expressed their satisfaction and excitement over the amount of work done so far and the unity with which members of the community has embrace the project. Meanwhile, on behalf of the community, a member expressed his appreciation towards LDS & Bread for the World for their contribution to the CLAP project in their community. “It’s great to see such collaboration towards a common goal. The dedicated efforts of passionate individuals and groups like LDS & Bread for the World give us confidence that the CLAP project will continue to have a positive impact in our community”, he concluded. He also mentioned that the visit of the team in the community has instilled more hope and commitment to the project and the community and that it shows that their contributions are valued and their voices are heard.
